Our mission is to educate local businesses and people about social media and grow the impact of social media in business and personal endeavors throughout Northwest Arkansas.
We do this through involvement and implementation across industries and throughout organizations. Get involved in our local chapter and help us learn!

Hey everyone, it’s Jay. Thought I’d give you a quick update on the goings on at the tweetup on Tuesday. For a largely un-promoted event we had a tight group of 6 and the discussion circled around apps. What we use, what we like, where the trends are pointing.
Collin brought a wealth of knowledge on Posterous and we demo’d both sites and apps that relate, Like PicPosterous.
Sara brought up a good question. Is there an app that tracks app usage, locally on your phone. That might come in handy in figuring out what your kids are doing on your phone as well as tracking your time-sucks during the day.
John talked on Waze, a social gps/mapping app and we talked through ways that app might come into play in the business world. stay tuned there.
I’m sure I’m leaving quite a bit so forgive me to those I’ve left out. All told, the meeting was enjoyable and educational… odd combo but lots of fun. we’re working on a date about 5-6 weeks out for the next meetup so keep your ears to the ground and we’ll let you know.

Afterwards, at 6:30 PM we’ll share one or two tips on how to manage the various social media networks and services that we’re all involved in most efficiently. On January 12th, 2010, three of the largest social media/marketing/PR groups in Northwest Arkansas came together to share information and make new friends. These three groups are the Social Media Club of Northwest Arkansas, Network Community of Northwest Arkansas and The MACC Initiative.
During this event, money was raised for Breast Cancer and Diabetes awareness and research assistance.

Three Strong Groups…One Great Evening~!

The Social Media Club of Northwest Arkansas (SMCNWA), Mothers and Companies Cooperating (MACC) and the Network Community of Northwest Arkansas (NCNWA) invite you to an evening of introductions, conversation, and great networking at Texas Land & Cattle, Tuesday, January 12th, from 5:00pm until 8:00.
We will give brief introductions on all three groups to let you know of the other opportunities to network both professionally and socially in the Northwest Arkansas region.
Texas Land & Cattle will have wait staff on hand to handle all your snack, meal, and beverage needs and they’ve been nice enough to offer us their back room, entire bar area, and half of the restaurant to mingle, meet, and greet. Thanks to them for their support.
During the meeting you will hear from Autumn Manning (@a_manning) of the MACC initiative, Michael Mollitor (@NY2AR) of NCNWA, and Kyle Judkins (@KyleJudkins) of SMCNWA on upcoming events, missions, and ways to get involved.

One of the goals of the website is to educate new members of SMCNWA about all the aspects of social media. We have started a couple pages (as seen on the tabs up top) that house a basic presentation about social media and a few recommendations.
That is a great start, but we want to expand on this base of information to a level that we feel is good enough to fully educate new members about the space. We had a great time tonight at Hog Haus on Dickson. Welcome to the new Social Media Club, Northwest Arkansas website. Due to confusion over where updates would be posted, where to check for new events, and what, generally speaking, is going on.
